Russian Tea Cookie Recipe

My mother makes these cookies every holiday season and it is just one of those things I look forward to each year. They are so tasty and are one of my absolute favorite things about the holidays.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups Butter, softened
  • 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 TSP Vanilla
  • 4 1/2 Cups Gold Medal™ All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 1/2 Cups Pecans, finely chopped (Pecans may be replaced for walnuts)
  • 1/2 TSP Salt
  • Powdered Sugar for Tossing

Directions:

  1. Mix vanilla, 1 cup of powdered sugar and butter in a large bowl until combined. Stir in flour, nuts and salt and continue mixing until a soft dough is formed.
  2. Preheat oven to 400°F. Roll dough into 1/2 inch balls and place on ungreased baking pan lined with parchment paper 1 inch apart.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes until cookies are set, but not browned.
  4. Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly.
  5. While cookies are still slightly warm toss in powdered sugar.
