Russian Tea Cookie Recipe
My mother makes these cookies every holiday season and it is just one of those things I look forward to each year. They are so tasty and are one of my absolute favorite things about the holidays.
Ingredients:
- 2 Cups Butter, softened
- 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 2 TSP Vanilla
- 4 1/2 Cups Gold Medal™ All-Purpose Flour
- 1 1/2 Cups Pecans, finely chopped (Pecans may be replaced for walnuts)
- 1/2 TSP Salt
- Powdered Sugar for Tossing
Directions:
- Mix vanilla, 1 cup of powdered sugar and butter in a large bowl until combined. Stir in flour, nuts and salt and continue mixing until a soft dough is formed.
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Roll dough into 1/2 inch balls and place on ungreased baking pan lined with parchment paper 1 inch apart.
- Bake for 10 minutes until cookies are set, but not browned.
- Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly.
- While cookies are still slightly warm toss in powdered sugar.
